Many use the terms interchangeably, but that's not correct.

The big difference

Waterproof floors are more durable and can handle spills and more significant accidents, like floods. In addition, these floors are entirely waterproof materials; there are no special coatings.

They're constructed with technologically advanced WPC (wood plastic composite) or SPC (stone plastic composite) cores. As a result, these won't peel or ripple, no matter how much water there is or for how long.

Water-resistant means a flooring will repel liquid for a short time. However, unless wiped immediately, it will break the barrier, soak, stain, peel, and ripple. The surface is then ruined and needs to be replaced.

Where do I use them?

Waterproof floors should be used in wet, active areas like the kitchen or bath. They are so stylish, however, that you'll want to use them anywhere you need peace of mind.

For example, people eat and spill in living, family, and dining rooms. Think about leaky air conditioning and HVAC units, cooking steam, damaged drain piped, and more.

One of the most stylish waterproof flooring options

Waterproof flooring is engineered luxury vinyl, thicker, more durable, and constructed with the WPC (wood plastic composite) or SPC (stone plastic composite) cores.

Both WPC and SPC are technologically advanced and won't peel or ripple. So it doesn't matter how much water there is or how long.
